I have a question about the hidden cal constants to change/upgrade a synth sweeper from a 20 Ghz to a 50 Ghz. Doe's anyone know what the procedure is?or how to find it?

Did you mean the 836XX series? I assume you did. To be honest I have never even heard of that. I personally would love to hear how to do this.

Can you give me info when you get it?
Thanks.

I would like to hear this also. I have 2 83640A sweepers I would like to take to 50GHz.

I can tell you what i do know, look into the service guide and find the config for the the 50 Ghz sweeper and order the modules like the Doubler,Amp/Filter,Amp/Mult and so on!Then you will have to go to the cal constants tap in your service guide where you will proceed to change the unit Identifier Response to the desired model number and all cal constants for said modules that were installed. after config is complete then you begin to run power level and flatness adjustments,YO adjust, and if you have an Attenuator you will do that adjustment also! And only thing that is left is to change the label. But that is if the unit accepts the change witch my unit is not! Therefore you would need to access the hidden cal constants. Also you need to make sure that your A12 board 08360-60212 has the amp/filter and the amp/mult adjustment. Please let me know if you find any info about the hidden cal constants.

If I remember correctly..(and my age does come into this)..you need the alignment program and a 9000 series HP computer with HP basic 6.0 or better....we have one, and have aligned the 836XX series..but I haven't seen a DOS/Windows interface...it may be out there..but you'll have to get with Agilent
