OPERATIONS MANAGER

We currently have an immediate opportunity for an Operations Manager at our Redmond, Washington Lab.

The ideal candidate will manage the laboratory's performance and staff and occasionally perform electronic calibrations and/or repairs on general purpose and/or specialized measuring and test equipment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Oversee a commercial calibration and repair laboratory operation, with guidance, within a structured organization using computer tracking of the calibration and repair process.

•   Maintain appropriate levels of accreditation and scope as defined by management; enhancement, and expansion of the laboratory scope of accreditation (UKAS, KEMA, ISO/IEC 17025 Quality System).

•   Instill operational process efficiencies to reduce costs and provide technical support for sales and operations efforts.

•   Manage service performance of the laboratory to corporate objectives and assist technical staff in the analysis and resolution of complex problems commonly found in TMDE.

•   Manage the laboratory assets to maximize the utilization and leverage of assets.  Ascertain lab capabilities and increase where relevant.

•   Support the Vice President of the Western Region in key initiatives and projects.




EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5-7 years of bench related experience with 4 years of supervisor/management experience and formal experience in Physical Dimensional, RF/Microwave and general purpose test equipment calibration.  Formal PMEL or equivalent technical training is highly desirable.


Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Working knowledge of MS Office applications and able to lift 45 lbs. without assistance.

Preferred
BA/BS or equivalent in Business Management
AA in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering sciences
Familiarity with the Washington State base

This is a team atmosphere primarily in a laboratory or manufacturing environment at a SIMCO location and/or customer sites, and the position could require some travel. This is a regular full time position.
