We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Metrologist / Quality Specialist at our Chatsworth, California lab.

The Metrologist / Quality Specialist performs routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical test and measurement equipment. He or she provides customer support for quality questions regarding the calibration of test equipment.  The Metrologist / Quality Specialist writes and must be able to explain calibration procedures to customers and other SIMCO employees.  He or she trains employees on the quality program to include the calibration of test equipment and maintains local copies of quality documents to include: DOPs, Delegation letters, Organizational Chart, Significant and Out of Tolerance Reports.  The Metrologist / Quality Specialist performs reverse traceability and impact analysis, Corrective Action Reports proficiency testing, Cross Checking and maintains personnel training records.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

•   Completed Military PMEL/TMDE course
•   A minimum of 5 years calibration experience
•   Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
•   Experienced in A2LA/NVLAP audits
•   Experienced in calculation of uncertainty budgets for a calibration lab
•   RF/Microwave experience required, 8902A system
•   Automated calibration experience
•   Experience in Met/Cal programming
•   Agilent automation Software knowledge/Surecal knowledge
•   Basic Electronics and Computer Skills (ASQ CTT recommended)
