Heise Model 710B

Received an email concerning the 710B yesterday. I don't support any of these units but thought I would pass it on.

The unit is not wired to 33-1-32 requirements from the factory.

Sir,

The situation that you've described is normal for this instrument, although the USAF requires the fuse on the high side. As a result, we've created a field retrofit kit and instructions (please see attached .doc) that will allow you to modify the unit at your location, per T.O. 33-1-32. Easy to do; a few screws and a couple of solder points.

Please provide me with an exact shipping or mailing address (an APO is OK) and we'll ship one (or more if you have other units) to you immediately at no charge.

Yep...that mod took place in the mid 90's.  Of course it was done by email and not by TCTO...which is why there may be some that have missed the boat.  Stuff like that should be done by TCTO.

OK ya'll....According to 33-1-27, para 5-14:  

T.O. 33-1-32 contains instructions for the elimination of potential shock hazard for TMDE in FSC 6625.  

Yes you read that correctly, FSC 6625...and the 710B is listed as FSC 6620...Hmmm.....also there is a caution that states:

Supervisors at all levels shall caution their equipment technicians that equipment designed for use in standard rack type cabinets shall not be used as bench test equipment without dust cover and/or elimination of shock hazards.
