$12.50 to $14.50 in Orlando?!?!? That is definitely terrible. :-(

Let me guess.....VOLT SERVICES maybe? Those people are a joke.

I doubt it's that company. They're not a large defense contractor.

I almost made that hourly rate as an E-4 over 20 years ago.  Takes me 20 minutes to make that now, after taxes...  Clearly these people are pulling our leg!

...and if they're not, woe to the customer that has them work on their equipment!!
If it works, it's a Fluke.

Thraxas

Maybe they just really need someone to calibrate their torque wrenches. :-o

flew-da-coup

I think they want you to calibrate there micrometers too.

What a joke. LOCKHEED Orlando likes all the real metrology labs rejects apparently. That or the employees have no idea that they are under paid. :x

Maybe. That's only one job description. We have no idea if that's the norm for all of their calibration technicians.

Three years ago, a headhunter tried to recruit me for a Lockheed Martin contract job. I also got a job offer from the ranch at Happy Valley. HV was offering between $18 and $19 per hour at the time. The LM job was roughly a dollar an hour less. Suffice to say, I moved from central Florida to middle Georgia. The lower cost of living and the longer length of contract was the deciding factor. Anyways, the pay was similar to what they were paying up here, and the LM job was an actual calibration technician postion (not helper, assistant, etc.).

The job description at the beginning of the thread suggests an entry level helper's position. If that's the case, I understand the lower pay. We don't know what they would pay a Calibration Technician III with 17 years experience and a variety of schools. If you're really curious, you should call Tad Resources or LM HR and politely inquire. Once you do that, let us know what they say.8-)

If anyone is willing to travel.......almost 100% of the time.  Contact Coup.  The pay is good for the traveling.  You probably would not have to relocate either.
