Job Description
The Measurement System Engineer position is responsible for developing precision metrology as a primary core competency for quality and manufacturing. The role will assess and improve current processes and identify, develop and deploy processes utilizing industry leading, cutting edge technology necessary to meet company and customer expectations. The position is responsible to define and support the creation of continuing robust metrology solutions.

Responsibilities:
•   Increase capability, competency and capacity in precision metrology.
•   Evaluate the all current process, equipment and skills to enable a fact-based gap/opportunity analysis - strategy
•   Assists quality and manufacturing personnel to improve overall knowledge and understanding of the use of all measurement/test equipment.
•   Drives advanced technology solutions for precision manufacturing measurement systems.
•   Assess manufacturing issues and provide solutions related to achieving challenging geometries and tolerance.
•   Analyses CAD models, blueprints, technical drawings for translation into appropriate measuring techniques.
•   Designs and implements repeatability and reproducibility gage studies.
•   Provide support to New Product Development Projects
•   Design part fixtures
•   Programming of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) with software programming knowledge (Zeiss Calypso)
•   Programming of optical systems such as Smart Scope equipment.
•   Demonstrated experience with basic statistics and data analysis
•   Design and conduct measurement system analysis (MSA) including GR&R and gauge bias studies
•   Test method assessment and development for performance and visual characteristics


Requirements:
•   Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent amount of relevant work experience
•   A minimum of 5 year experience in a measurement system with demonstrated successful performance.
•   Minimum of 10 years work experience in an manufacturing engineering environment
•   Ability to think Strategically and execute on ideas
•   Demonstrated experience with basic statistics and data analysis
•   Knowledge of the evaluation of materials testing (Instron) preferred
•   Experience measuring plastic components is preferred
•   CAD experience preferred
•   Programming knowledge of CMM and/or Smart Scope preferred
