CATLab is looking for a Calibration Tech II for a full time position in its New Kent, VA laboratory. 

CATLab  http://www.catlab.net/ is the laboratory division of Control Automation Technologies Corporation (founded 1989) with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited labs in New Kent, VA and Winston-Salem, NC. Our services include calibration and repair of precision test equipment used in Manufacturing, Life Sciences, technical service companies, defense and related agencies.

CATLab is planning an expansion of its Virginia laboratory and has an immediate opening for a mid-level calibration technician who has documented calibration experience with precision test equipment in a commercial or military laboratory. JOB SUMMARY:
The Calibration Technician II (mid-level) is required to perform calibrations on low to medium level test and measurement instrumentation and assist in general laboratory duties as assigned. This person should be able to troubleshoot and repair basic malfunctions. The technician must be self-motivated and require minimal guidance from others in the measurements it is proficient yet will work with senior technicians to enhance and broaden capabilities in other disciplines.  Above all, the technician must fit well in a small business, family friendly environment that is committed to customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Adhere to all company policies and procedures,
•Ensure customer satisfaction and timely turn-around on all equipment and service,
•Perform calibration of low to medium level test and measurement equipment with little supervision,
•Work alone or with others to perform calibrations at remote facilities requiring occasional overnight travel.
•Perform other laboratory support functions as required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
•Two years of a technical associate's degree or Military (PMEL) experience
•Minimum of 2 years of commercial or military laboratory experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA) REQUIRED:
•Basic knowledge of metrology practices and theories,
•Proficient in the calibration of mid-level electronic test and measurement equipment (DMM, Oscilloscopes, Multifunction Calibrators, etc.) with moderate multi-discipline experience in calibration of mechanical, thermal and/or dimensional devices,
•Experience with commercial laboratory management software
•Understand ISO 9000, ISO/IEC 17025, and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 requirements (FDA CGMPs, 21CFR 820 a plus),
•Present a professional appearance and be skilled in communication with customers and peers,
•Ability to stand, climb stairs, lift and move equipment, up to 50 lbs., without assistance,
•Must be a U.S. citizen, pass a background check, and possess valid a driver's license

Required experience: Minimum 2-years experience on the bench, preferably with electrical/electronic instrumentation.  Additional disciplines a plus.  PMEL/TMDE and other military training preferred.
