Greetings, I'm looking for information regarding the support and calibration of the Thunder 2500. I know the transducers incorporated into the Thunder are PSIA, what standards are available, besides the Ruska 2465, to support these? I have a Hart Scientific 1502A and PRT, are these accurate enough for Thunder support? What is recommended? Last item, I think, would be a temperature bath. I have used a 2 well bath, at previous employer, to support the Thunder. What other baths are available?

The thermistors in the 2500 are calibrated to ±0.05°C over the range. You'll have to look at the specs on your PRT/1502A combination to verify its capability. You also need to make sure your temperature bath (not drywell) has the uniformity and stability to meet the accuracy requirements. We use an Accumac SPRT, a Fluke 1594A Superthermometer and a Fluke 7341 deep well bath. For pressure we use a Ruska 7250xi with a 300 psi range to calibrate the two pressure transducers.

We have a nice Hart stirred bath (as well as another one from Isotech).  They are designed as maintenance baths for TPW Cells, and are extremely uniform.  We use a Rosemount PRT connected to our Fluke 8508A meter, and dip the set of temp probes in there to cal the 2500A.  We use a Mensor absolute pressure standard, CPG something (or something like that) for the pressure portion.  We calibrate the Mensor against our Ruska 2465 (we will be - almost brand new, and been cal'd by OEM thus far).  Works well, and nicely adequate to cal the 2500A.

We use the following:
Pressure:  DHI PPC3-7M Pressure Calibrator
Temperature:  Hart Scientific 7040 Temperature Bath, HS 1594A Digital Thermometer, and HS 5698 Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer.

We perform a functional flow check using a ML-500-B Bios System.
