Does anyone know how to change my profile skill level? A 56 year old "pinger" just doesn't sit right...

I think it is associated with number of posts, not actual skill.  As a USN veteran, I am not well apprised of USAF terminology, but I wonder if when the site was developed, they used the USAF levels in jest(?).

Site setup is USAF centered for sure with all the K this and that, PMEL.  In the Army it was TMDE and Calibration.
As stated I think it has to do with posting activity.
I am glad it's here.  Has allowed me to locate things I need and share information with people knowing far more than me.

Yes, there is at least some degree of humor in the skill levels. As was related to me when I was in tech school, the term "pinger" refers to the sound a basic trainee's hair makes when you drag your hand over his head and it is obviously not an official skill level. So, at least now we all know what it refers to even if there is nothing we can actually do about it....

Brian, it is all based on the amount of post here. It doesn't reflect your true skill level in anyway. I am just glad that people are still using Hoopty's forum. I have been a member here for 11 yrs and created some real good contacts here. It is really a good resource. Anyway, keep posting Brian and you will no longer be a pinger.
