I am attempting to calibrate a LISN with some test equipment we have here. I have read and understand the Standards that were written to describe the testing paramerters but here is my issue. Now dont laugh but i have a 4195A that i am trying to use. I have done these with the 4395A and another impedance Analyzer with a MACRO program that was written by Com-Power. Does anyone have a procedure using the 4195A? I will take a hand written or even an automated if i can get one! all help is appreciated.

After you connect the 41952A bridge to the 4195A, select s-parameters as your mode of operation, and T2/R2 LEDs should be lit, if using channel 2.  You need to use a 85032B cal kit for the short, open, and termination.  After you set your start and stop frequencies, hit the CAL key and the S-PRMT CAL menu.  Select one-port cal and proceed to put the open, short, an termination on the test port of the 41952A, hitting the ENTER key after each one.  Press the Correction On softkey afterwards so it saves the cal.  Now you are ready to make impedance measurements.  You can select to read your results in SWR, rho, return loss, or since you are testing LISNs, select the Smith Chart.  It reads your results in Resistance and Reactance.  In order to convert those into Impedance for your LISN results, you must RSS those values.  You are done measuring their impedance.  Tell Nick I said "Hi".

Thanks a lot! that really helped. Now if there was a way to get the data via usb and transfer it to an Excel spreadsheet that would be awesome as well. Would you happen to know of any programs or Excel Macro sheets that have been written for the 4195A?
