Fallbrook Technologies Inc. Currently, Fallbrook is seeking a Lead Metrology Technician.   Provide high quality measurement and inspection support for Fallbrook Prototype, and Product Development projects.  Confirm that all inspection operations are carried out in accordance with Fallbrook Metrology Quality Program requirements.  Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and operation of laboratory Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).   The position will be based in our technology facility near Austin, Texas and is initially offered on a full-time basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS
•   Assist Metrology Specialists and Technicians in proper documentation and metrology principles.
•   Build and maintain metrology lab capability to facilitate accurate, reliable, and traceable inspections.
•   Ensure equipment maintenance, standardization, and calibrations are completed within specification.
•   Maintain database of equipment inventory, calibration status, and measurement history.
•   Evaluate and make recommendations for metrology staff training, to ensure maximum quality inspection performance.
•   Create concise technical documents, procedures, processes, and quality matrices as applicable.
•   Provide Quality Review of engineer drawings, using accurate interpretation of GD&T principles.
•   Perform First Article Inspection of prototype parts and vendor production parts while maintaining proper traceability, quality, and documentation.
•   Operate, Program, and Inspect parts using measurement instruments such as Mahr MMQ 44 and XCR20, OGP Flash 500, Zeiss Contura G2 with Calypso.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATION and EDUCATION
•   BS/BA Degree or Military Training (PMEL) preferred in Quality or Science related field.
•   5+ years of experience operating in a quality controlled metrology setting.
•   First Article Inspection (FAI) AS-9102 experience a plus.
•   Quality Assurance experiences a plus.
•   GD&T experience and understanding preferred.
•   Calypso experience a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•   Strong desire to become a part of a team environment.
•   Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
•   Strong initiative to succeed, self-starter, great time management.
•   Good communication skills and superior attention to detail.
•   Some understanding of Machining, Manufacturing, and Production techniques.
•   Excellent mechanical aptitude with strong math, statistic and geometry skills.
•   Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
