Brian,
Me too!  I thought for sure the last updates we made to PS-Cal (now being the only package to update ALL the Agilent sensors) would raise some eyebrows out there.  But not luck.

We are working on Boonton Support and Anristu Support right now.  We will be the only company with Boonton Power Sensor support shortly and we will be the only company performing all the tests of that I am sure.

I spent 30 wonderful months there and would still be there, if I hadn't gotten married.

The whole island is a military base. about 1/2 mile wide and 4 miles long. Bus service to far end of island from downtown to work buildings. Overwise, feet or bike. No private cars. Electric carts for most work vechiles. Lots of water related things to do, sailing, boating, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, ( Marlin, tuna, mai mai and oni) scuba diving amoung WWII battle field wrecks.

Down side, military TV, and no high speed internet, Military mesh hall for single people. and the streets roll up at 7:30 pm except for the 2 bars.

Sounds like a nice place to vacation but not a great place to live? I wonder if the food and housing are free? WHAT no TGI Fridays??? Im out...

Being a single person, I wouldn't mind doing a short stint over there for a year or so just to get away from the rat race and let all the crud clear out of my head, yet keeping my technical skills sharp, if only they had an engineering position and provided some sort of per diem to live there (I'm sure the cost of living on an island is extraordinarily high!)

Free room and board for all single people. Free housing for married. If, you can get them to take you. They are going to unaccompanied. Flying in and out is expensive on your own. But, they pay for most of your flights. If, you need more than the basic hospital and dental can do. They fly you to Honolulu on their dime. 30 days vacation a year at their expense. With them paying for your flight home.

Food at the commisarry is a little higher. But, over all the place is great.

I'm not job hunting, but a few months ago in an A.D.D. moment, I saw a really cool PMEL job for Raytheon in Alice Springs Australia.  It was at Pine Gap (or something like that) I think, which is outside of Alice Springs.  According to some websites I found (still in the A.D.D. moment) that place is like our Area 51, and there were reports of flying saucers doing crazy aerobatics, etc.  That would be a cool place to work.  Problem would be, then after you did a tour there, you couldn't tell anyone about it (the great advantage to not doing it, as I can share freely what I don't know).

I wonder what pay is like in Australia? If I were a younger man I would jump on the opportunity to go spend some time there. Almost like a free vacation...
