They must believe you are more stable if you are married?? Ya right the stress of being married has made me way less stable...

From their job posting of 3-12-2008:

QuoteApplicants and technicians must be married, clean shaven, with an acceptable haircut (pony tails are not acceptable unless you are female), no visible tattoos, no ear rings of facial hardware.

"Acceptable" haircut could vary... and even the services let you have a moustache. At least there's no body fat index requirement. And they don't tell you which church to go to.

Can't we make these groups become members before posting jobs? :?

They probably removed the marriage requirement due to the possibility of legal issues, but you can bet if you aren't married you won't be getting a call-back.

Aside from that it looks like a good job if you like being on the road collecting per diem. 40-50k per year goes a long way down south.

Here in Kentucky, as well as in 29 other states, it is not illegal to discriminate against marital status.   The person formerly responsible for the hiring here preferred married technicians over single technicians based on the fact that the company has had a higher retention rate of the married technicians working on the road.   That said, we have never turned down an applicant based on the fact that they were single.
