My client is immediately seeking:POSITION TITLE: LEAD METROLOGIST

Overall Job Summary: The person in this position will be responsible for leading the metrology department in developing and evaluating metrology calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects, substance or phenomena at the Company's manufacturing campus located in the (Southern) Northeast, U. S.

Job responsibilities include the following:Apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to design, document and analyze calibration systems, procedures and measurement and test equipment; routine calibration of M & TE and Lab Standards. 
Develop, document, review and maintain calibration methods and procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements. 
Train, coach and mentor technicians and metrologists on calibration procedures and metrology quality systems; provide verbal and written instructions for technicians and metrologists. 
Analyze measurement data to identify abnormalities, trends and predict future values. 
Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis of measurement standards, systems and associated equipment.  Maintain and ensure that the metrology quality management system is based on principles of measurement science and meets corporate and regulatory requirements. 
A person in this role must demonstrate the ability to perform metrology functions while providing leadership to others in the department.  He or she must have excellent written/verbal/communications; strong computer skills; strong interpersonal skills; and must be able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment.

Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline, unless certifications below are present.
Certfications: Military TMDE (PMEL) certificate may substitute for Bachelor's degree.  ASQ CCT certification preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirements: This position requires five (5) years of experience.   Preference given to those with experience in medical device manufacturing or similar regulated industry.

Develop, document, review and maintain calibration methods and procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements.
Train, coach and mentor technicians and metrologists on calibration procedures and metrology quality systems; provide verbal and written instructions for technicians and metrologists.
Analyze measurement data to identify abnormalities, trends and predict future values.

A person in this role must demonstrate solid metrology fundamentals, understanding of process equipment and process calibrations, strong physical dimensional, optical, or electromechanical calibration background.   Must have the ability to lead in a team structure - facilitate, direct, perform and participate as appropriate.   This individual must be self directed, continaully seeking system improvements and teh ability to think of creative solutions to complex issues.

Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.   Military TMDE (PMEL) training may substitute for Bachelor's degree.

Certifications: ASQ CCT certification preferred.
