COLUMBIA, MD — Rohde and Schwarz, a leading supplier of solutions in the fields of test and measurement, today announced that it has formed a relationship with Tektronix Service Solutions to offer customers in North America a single-source for calibration services. This represents the first time that two major test and measurement manufacturers have joined forces to provide customers with a comprehensive solution for all their calibration needs.

No longer do companies using test, measurement and control instrumentation have the resources to manage multiple calibration vendors, nor do they have spare high-end products to enable sending units offsite without causing downtime. Meanwhile, skipping calibration introduces risk into the measurement and validation process.  With this relationship, Rohde & Schwarz is now able to offer customers in the USA and Canada a single-source calibration solution while Tektronix Service Solutions extends its capabilities and is now able to offer customers calibration services for high-end communications test equipment.

"Our customers have been asking for a trusted single-source solution for calibrating their entire set of communications test and other instrumentation to help reduce downtime," said Scott Bausback, President and CEO of Rohde & Schwarz, Inc.  "By partnering with Tektronix Service Solutions, we are able to confidently offer our customers a truly comprehensive set of high-quality calibration capabilities that will help them bring new technologies to market in less time."

"When capital budgets and deadlines are tight, customers need the most complete and highest quality calibration and support solution available," said Paul Caragher, President, Tektronix Service Solutions. "By partnering with Rohde & Schwarz we are combining the depth of knowledge that only two OEMs can bring together with the breadth of capability Tektronix Service Solutions offers, giving customers the best overall value and highest quality calibration solution on the market."

So does this mean that pretty soon Danaher will be buying Rhode & Schwarz??? And who are they??? I do not believe I have ever even heard of them???

I believe Rhode & Schwarz is a German company, they make power meters, sensors, signal generators (I recall the Army made a puechase of them) spectrum analyzer, communication analyzers.  I think they are good stuff but perhaps an acquired taste.  I like thier performance testing procedures, they separate the men from the boys-"using standard measurment techniques"

They are a German company.  The Air Force bought a combination signal generator and modulation analyzer to replace the aging VOR/ILS standards we had.  Not known to be all that reliable.  We ended up using the old standards more because of downtime.  Of course when they were first purchased the Air Force didn't buy any manuals or repair kits so the modulation analyzer was a frequent flier to Germany.  That's the only equipment from them that I have had hands on with.  Maybe some of their newer stuff is better.  Don't know.
