Colleen,

Did you take heed to anything I said regarding the Andover, MA position? I see you fixed the 401(k) problem but it's still the same poor, unprofessional presentation. If you're going to use the same template for all jobs, at least get it right (using the same template shows an incredible lack of creativity on your part).

What is the salary range? Stop trying to get people to lowball themselves. It makes your company look cheap and doesn't make a good first impression.

You claim a comprehensive benefits package, yet list none.

It's a Field Service Position and yet it states that travel may be required. If it's Field Service, travel is implied. You still haven't cleared up the confusion about this being a permanent on-site at one customer's location or on-sites at multiple customer locations.

Your punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure are atrocious.

Come on, Colleen. You can do better than this.

Davis uses a template to post positions mainly  because of employment laws. If I got too creative I may get into trouble.

Salary depends on experience and is not a one size fits all proposition. Salaries for technicians are all over the map. We have way to many variables to publish peoples salaries, and salaries are confidential. At Davis we believe in paying people what they are worth. If we are not in agreement we will say so. I'm sorry you have trouble with this.

Geez duck. . . don't hold back.  Tell her what you really think.  The only one being unprofessional here is you.  If you look through the posts, I believe you'll find a significant number of grammatical errors across the board.  This isn't English 101.  Someone needs to climb off the high horse.

Someone should be thanking her for posting jobs, period.

cmaxwell

Thanks ZZ.

I try not to have grammatical errors in my posts, but this has never been my strongest skill.

zz,

Colleen is representing her company in a formal capacity here. The informal nature of this site in no way absolves her of the responsibility to conduct her business in a professional manner. That includes the ads she posts. I'm sure her boss would concur.

If someone were to send her a resume containing the types of errors found in her ad, I would hope that she would throw it in the garbage where it belongs. My only fear is that she wouldn't even notice.

Apparently I'm making an impact because she keeps correcting what I'm pointing out to her. It still has a ways to go but it's looking a lot better than it was, and for that I applaud her. Good on ya, Colleen!

Duck,

Thanks for the feedback.

If anyone needs more information about our comprehensive benefits package or has questions not answered in the job posting please ask. It is not my intention to be keeping information from anyone. I will gladly get you our benefits summary and/or clear up any questions you might have.

i look forward to all posting.  it is a way to show that there is a big need for qualified techs throughout the US and abroad.  as for posting pay and benefits????  40K in Los Angeles does not equate to 40K in West Virginia.  It would be easy to post exact pay for a company like mine that has one cal facility and pay is governed by a CBA.

zz

Duck,
I understand your point, just not your delivery.  There's no reason to berate people who are doing us a service (especially in this economy).  We should be concerned more with our own skills.  I'm educated, but I still make mistakes. . . as we all do.  Keep the job offers coming Colleen!

Did Davis open a Lab in Pittsburgh? Last I heard the location was in Sommerset PA.  That is quite a drive from Pittsburgh.  The lab I know of is 1 hour and 15 minutes from Pittsburgh.  I am not trying to be rude I would just like some clarification.
