Job Purpose:
Sr.  Metrology Engineer provides leadership and direction in the field of metrology, chiefly concerning the calibration of test and measurement equipment used in medical research, process development and production applications. 

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with process development teams to develop optimal calibration requirements balancing service costs with risk management models. 
• Work with equipment engineering teams to design calibration interfaces into custom designed equipment.  These activities include providing guidance on the design of software calibration screens, calibration access ports, and sensor location. 
• Develop calibration methods, and generate internally controlled calibration procedures for all new test systems.  Provide training to metrology department staff for new test systems and calibration standards. 
• Provide leadership on metrology issues, and facilitate continuous improvement efforts within the department. 
• Review and approve internally controlled calibration documents including: Specifications, processes and testing documents. 
• Provide guidance to others throughout the company in assessing measurement process variability and uncertainty.  Research and acquire new measurement standards and technologies as required to meet company demands. 

Qualifications:
BS Degree Required. 
Thorough knowledge of FDA/ISO standards relating to test and measurement requirements.  These include, but are not limited to GMP, ISO 17025, and ISO 13485. 
Knowledge of statistical tools used to evaluate measurement variability and uncertainty.  These include Gage R&D, and ISO GUM techniques. 
The ideal candidate must be flexible and possess good written and verbal communication skills, have proven problem solving skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
