Kill the HVAC guy, if you can wait until after he fixes your stuff...

HVAC folks here HATE PMEL!  I think they draw straws to see who has to come over here when we call.
I actually had one place a psycrometer (uncalibrated) on the bench and tell me our humidity was OK when our humidigraph was right next to it saying out of tolerance.  I was unable to make him understand what calibrated equipment meant.
Now we have a computer controlled system and they look at their computer and say we're in tolerance when our sensors are beeping all over the place.  They refused to change the set points until I was blue in the face!
Needless to say, I'm not allowed to talk to them any more...you call someone an idiot ONE time...

Good luck dallanta!

At least you got the radios back though, right?  There's a silver lining! :-D

Did you pack it in a crate? :?

Anyways, can't you just delegate the heavy lifting to an airman? :-D

Contractor out of California came to take furniture from some dorms and I forgot I had brought the dolly with me.  They probably used it and then stuck it on their truck and went back to California.

Yeah, but I think I found one today that I can just not return.  The people we borrowed it from have an excess of dollys.

I don't ask questions, and as long as nobody else does, I have a replacement dolly.  So I'll just lie low, keep under the radar...and hope nobody notices.  8-)

I hate Mondays.  Even when nothing goes wrong, nothing seems right.  Maybe it's just my mindset but it is really depressing to go through a good day feeling like there is something out there, waiting for that moment when the day seems like it's going great, to pounce and crush all hope.  Now, this isn't some end-all event it's just a feeling and usually nothing goes wrong.  I just really hate feeling like something will.  Always on Monday though.  God forbid that it comes to Monday the 13th.  (shiver)  That is all kinds of trouble.   :x

You're telling me. Have you ever waken up on Monday to the room spinning? I don't drink. So, you can imagine my surprise. Vertigo is not fun.

Taxes.  Not only are they a pain in the ass to complete, then you have to wait for the government to go through and process your form.  Now, the federal return usually gets back fairly quickly.  However, the damn state take for friggin' ever and God forbid you file a non-resident return.  At this point, I feel it neccesary to add that I filed both electronically.  I would have thought that would have had a measure to how fast the return was proccessed, seeing as how it got there as fast as the little wires could take it.  We kind of need this money for our vacation and we thought that would give them plenty of time to process the damn request.  But noooo, they're taking their sweet f*****g time getting this done because I filled a non-resident return!

Took some anti-vertigo medicine my doctor prescribed me. Maybe I'll actually be able to go to work this week. There's a cursed blessing.

That sucks man. I wish I could say I feel your pain, but I did pretty well this year. Paid the federal government about $60 and broke even on state taxes.

Well, it turns out my whole taxes rant was unnecessary.  I had the wrong refund amount in the website and it gave me incorrect information.  I don't know why they needed that to determine if it had been processed, but oh well, now I know.

I had a dolly once.  After I got married, my wife let the air out.  Poor Inga

Yea!  I found the dolly!  Turns out they just left it in the last dorm they hauled the furniture out of.  Wasn't that fun.  Oh well.

Parents raising their boys as wimps. What's up with this? Some parents on my boys baseball team thought I was a bad parent because I let my boy continue to play after getting hurt. For one my son wanted to play. My son got hurt when he tagged a kid out that was heading for home plate. He fell when he leaped at the runner. My son rolled around for a minute because he landed on his arm. I checked him out and he said he was fine. I told him to sit on the bench until he could decide if he could play or not. The next thing I know I see him back on the pitchers mound. The parent that was fussing the most let his kid sit out a whole game because he fell on his knee. I am sure the kid was hurt at first, but he was playing in the dugout like there was no problem the rest of the game. I don't know it might be me, but it just seems like parents are letting their kids cop out to easy. These kids are going to have a hard time when they get older. I think that the parent fussing was just mad because he thought my boy made his boy look bad. When in fact his boy was making himself look bad. Parents please raise your boys to be men! If I caught my boy playing in the dugout and sitting the game out He would regret it when we got home.

I'm with you, Coup.  Although blessed with only daughters, my girls are tough, and aren't too whiney when they get a little boo-boo.  They aren't too keen on snakes, but that's about it.

I was gratified last Sunday when my 22-year-old and my son-in-law was arguing over who was going to mow the lawn.  Finally a compromise was reached, and one mowed the front, and the other mowed the back.  That was until Angie saw the snake out front.  My son-in-law finished the mowing after that.  My daughter asked "What kills a snake?"

My reply- "A shovel, or a lawnmower..."  That elicited the expected "Ewww, gross!!" reply...

I grew up the son of a contractor, and it was not unusual to take a tumble off a ladder, usually from a non-life-ending height.  I would land, shake my head, check out the parts that hit the hardest, and hear my father- "You all right?  OK.  Get back up there and finish the flashing on that chimney..."  Initially I thought he was an insensitive, uncaring bastard, but no, he was teaching me the old lesson about if the horse kicks you off, you gotta get right back on.  Overcome the fear, do it smarter, don't make the same mistakes twice- all that sorta thing...  Both my older girls can walk a roof like Spiderman, and I don't have a heart attack if they fall off the ladder when they're cleaning the gutters.  I just hear my father's voice saying "You all right?  OK.  Get back up there and finish..."  Only it's coming out of my mouth...

This is from my son's mouth " Dad if you make the play and get hurt you look cool, if you don't make the play and you don't get hurt then you look stupid. Dad I'd rather be cool".

By the way this is after I asked him why he manages to get hurt every other game.

Nice to know your son is going to grow up to be a psycho like his dad. :-D
