ASSISTANT MANAGER-  CALIBRATION
Houston, TX

Position Description:
Assist the Calibration Laboratory Manager by:

Scheduling workload to meet customer and company demands

Scheduling and meeting customer on-site commitments and demands.

Ensuring and enforcing compliance with all company, customer and governmental policies, procedures and standards and taking corrective action(s) when necessary.

Providing technical assistance and direction to technicians in areas of expertise.  Assisting in the professional development and training of laboratory staff.

Establishing and maintaining positive customer and employee relations.  Establishing and maintaining teamwork within laboratory and with sales staff.

Preparing technical data in accordance with Corporate quality procedures, as directed.

Providing input regarding Employee Performance Appraisals and ensuring they are delivered in a timely manner.  May be expected to (under direction of Calibration Lab Manager) write and deliver Employee Performance Appraisals.

Identifying necessary on-site progressive discipline

Job Requirements:
Substantial, broad spectrum of calibration experience (5+ years)
1-2 years of Supervision experience
Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
Education and/or training in basic electronics & physical/dimensional calibration
Formal training in Metrology, such as the Precision Measurement Equipment Course (PMEL) or TMDE gained through the military is highly desirable
Must demonstrate working knowledge of calculation of measurement uncertainties
Computer experience
Must be ready, willing and able to perform calibrations
Must have a valid Driver's License and good driving record
