I have a E4408B Agilent Spec An not passing Frequency Response. Has anyone used the Agilent N7800A adjustment and calibration software for the Agilent ESA series Spectrum Analyzers? As I understand, that software is the only way to adjust and calibrate the ESA series spectrum Analyzers. I really don't want to send this back to Agilent for alignment if I don't have to.

Per Keysight "If you perform calibration for instruments owned by your company and do not offer calibration as a commercial service, you may be eligible for licensed access to Keysight calibration software."

Means if you are a 3rd party calibration lab. You can't get a license for the N7800A software these days.

Correct. We tried a few months back. I was still curious and took a wag to ask if anyone out there that reads this forum had any experience with the software. Agilent did not always have this policy for that software. There may be labs out there that have it. The ESA series is fairly reliable from what I can tell so there may not be a lot of cal labs or end users trying to align them.

We use the TME software every day. Works great including the adjustment part.

Have not tested or aligned an E4408B but have done others recently that use the same (N7811A) application with no issues.

Keysight will see licenses on a per S/N basis even to 3rd party labs.

Keysight will only sell you an N7800A license if you own (I.E. Self-maintainer)

Its right in the first sentence "...and do not offer calibration as a commercial service."

4408 TME works great, Ive always thought the N7800 was some of the best software especially with uncertainties, they quit selling to third party labs a couple of years back but some labs manged to have keys in "stock"; they will still sell for your equipment and usually you can get a perpetual license at time of purchase.
