POSITION TITLE:          PMEL Site Manager
LOCATION:            Andrews AFB, MD
POSITION CLASSIFICATION:   Exempt
SUPERVISOR:   Contract Manager
HOURS:   7:00am – 4:00pm
SALARY:            Commensurate with relevant education and                      experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The PMEL Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the PMEL operations. 

REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
•   Minimum five years (5) years' experience as USAF PMEL Manager.
a.   Experience shall include no less than five (5) years as Metrology Laboratory Technician to include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating and certifying TMDE and laboratory working standards using safe working practices and utilizing the required documents/procedures.
•   Extensive experience with and working knowledge of electronic and physical/dimensional principles, troubleshooting techniques, calibration traceability, metrology techniques and USAF PMEL laboratory practices, polices and procedures. 
•   Demonstrated experience of maintaining calibration laboratory compliance to ISO 17025 and T.O. 00-20-14 quality standards.
•   Strong leadership, organizational, problem solving and resource management skills.
•   Possesses the knowledge required to read and analyze block, schematic, wiring and logic diagrams.
•   Excellent English written and communication skills.
•   Must be a U.S. Citizen, be able to acquire and maintain any and all necessary security clearances.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
   Essential/Typical Duties:
•   Supervises PMEL personnel in maintaining, repairing and calibrating electronic and physical/dimensional test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
•   Provides technical guidance and assistance to lower level technicians

Non-Essential Duties:
•   Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasionally requires: Climbing, Stooping and Kneeling
Often requires: Reaching, Pulling, Pushing, Standing, Sitting, Walking, Talking and Hearing


Lifting/Moving Requirements:
•   The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.  The ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when calibrating certain TMDE.
Environmental Conditions:
•   Normally works in an environmentally controlled work area.
