Below is the posting for the person who will be my replacement. I am retiring the end of March this year. They normally offer their salaried employees a fairly substantial lump sum moving incentive that comes with a 2 to 3 year committment.  This is not a laboratory setting it is more of an instrumentation environment where 90% or more of the work is done in-place.  It is a very stable work environment (one of the techs has been here 49 years).

Description


The Sr. Engineer of Metrology is responsible for the overall Metrology program at the Kankakee facility. The Sr. Engineer possess a thorough knowledge of the principles of metrology, keeps current with industry trends and instrumentation improvements as they relate to the metrology field, ensures that the facility instrumentation is calibrated properly and on schedule to comply with good Calibration/Metrology guidelines. The Sr. Engineer also identifies ways to improve the efficiency of the calibration procedures, follows current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), writes Stand Operating Procedures (SOPs), and manages multiple contracts with external vendors performing calibrations.


Qualifications

Education:  Minimum: Associates degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Quality or related technical field.
Preferred: BS in Electronic, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related
technical field.



Experience:  2-6 years direct metrology experience with a BS degree or 6-10 years direct metrology experience with an Associates degree in a technical field.



Competencies:  Special training in the calibration of pressure, temperature, humidity, participate,  voltage current, air samplers, dimensional, mechanical and physical devices.
