Kick ass game, if you like RPG

That seems to be the general consensus. Maybe I'll give the game a try. My Xbox 360 has been feeling lonely lately. :-D

Has anyone here played God of War for the PS2?  I've read some reviews but if anyone here has played it, I'd like to hear your point of view.  Just saw that God of War II is coming out in 2007 and now I'm a little more curious as to the origianal game.

So did you ever watch FF7:AC, Chuck? It came out on DVD last Tuesday. I found to the dubbing to fairly decent and the dub & sub scripts to be alright. I didn't like the fact that they picked Kim Possible for the voice of Yuffie though.

I have seen it, I watched it here in my office last friday.  I have to say though, I was kind of dissapointed with the story.  It seemed fragmented and thin.  While it does give closure for Cloud's side of the story, they focused more on the action than making sure that there was a solid plot.  The graphics were wonderful, I found it to be quite beautiful and the action sequences were done well.  Although, the thing with Cloud getting launched toward the dragon (?) did seem a little much to me.  I think I probably built this movie up so far in my head that there may be some undue criticism here, but so far thats how I see it.  Also, I had the subtitled version.  See smiley rating.

:-D  :-D  :-D

Also I finally beat FF7, and it only took me 7 years!  Mostly because I had the game at my first base, got my ass handed to me by the monsters right before Jenova in the Northern Crater and gave up.  I think I was only level 75-80 something when I did that though.  This time I was 95 (Cloud), 95 (Barrett), and 92 (Red XIII).  This time I went through the monsters, Jenova, and both versions of Sephiroth easily.  Even Sephiroth's Super Nova didn't slow me down.  Oh it hurt, don't get me wrong but health was at a point where no one died.  Unlike frigin' Emerald Weapon, whose curtain attack kills everyone in my party.  I never got the materia for that final spell, so Phoenix couldn't save us when Barrett died.  Anyway, this game still holds a solid spot as one of the top landmark games in the evolution of gaming.

In the context of the story, the characters were all level 99 at the end of the game. So, I didn't have any trouble suspending my disbelief during the action sequences. Personally, I wanted to see Cloud hook up with Tifa. Oh well...I enjoyed the movie either way.  :-D

Good point.  Yeah, when the movie started I thought that Tifa and Cloud would hook up.  Oh well.  I do have one question though.  With the whole conversation with Sephiroth, does that mean his memory or whatever is still alive in the Lifestream?  I guess I'll have to watch it again.

The news this morning tells us that the PS3 will be here in time for Christmas.  The price: $500.

Frankly, I'm amazed at the price- seems a bit pricey.  Still, buying stock in Sony may not be a bad idea...
If it works, it's a Fluke.

That's actually not that bad compared to what was originally predicted. Merrill Lynch had predicted it would cost from $800-900. The prediction was based on the cost of the next generation dvd technology Sony will be incorparating into the PlayStation.

Either way, looks like I'll be waiting for the price to come down before I can buy it.  Damn.   :x

awesome game.....one of the best ever on PS2 just recently became a plantinum hit....believe me you cant go wrong  with game for 20 bucks

Got another entry for Black.  I've been playing more since I beat FF7, and it still has the same stress release effect that it did from the first couple times I played.  There's nothing quite like being able to blow up an oil refinery/weapons plant, watching the huge storage tanks go up as they get hit with an RPG.  Next, the Asylum!  Nothing like close quarters fighting to make it interesting.

Finished Dreamfall: The Longest Journey earlier this week. I waited a couple of years for this game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had an engaging storyline, great characterization, and gorgeous graphics. I recommend it to anybody that likes "point and click" adventures.

This game has a "I can't wait for the next sequel" rating of 5 out of 5 smileys.

Half-Life 2: Episode One is coming out next month. That one's next on the shopping list. After that is Prey and Dead Rising for XBox 360. Most likely next is a Nintendo DS Lite and New Super Mario Brothers.

Okay, this plug is for an older game.  It came out shortly after the PS2, Twisted Metal Black.  The reason I'm bringing this up is because I unlocked some of the hidden characters last night and started on one in story mode.  This game is just f*****g twisted!  The driver for the car is the younger brother of Sweettooth (the iconic psychotic clown from TM1 & 2) who brought his father back to life (sort of) after he was shot in the head.  Now, what's really creepy about this is this kid is about 12.  I still have to finish his story, I have a few levels left, but I'm not sure I want to know the end to his story.  And I've got three more drivers to go.

To give you a better idea of how dark and creepy this game can be, let me tell you about the driver of Spectre.  Her name is Bloody Mary.  After high school as she watched her friends get married one by one, she started to lose it.  She had been tormented as a child about being ugly and it turned her into a very hateful person.  It shows marriage announcements in which she has marked over the bride and groom in red and scribbled insults on the pages.  During one wedding in which she was a bridesmaid she came off her medication.  The bride threw her the boquet and she lost it.  She grabbed the cake knife and ran it through the bride right under the sternum.  Then she drug her into a changing room and proceded to change into the bloodied wedding dress.  Once she wins the tournament, Calypso (the central charcter of the game) gives her the "true love" she's been looking for. (a lobotomized man)  However when he says that he will never love her, the cinematic cuts to her hacking him in the chest with an axe.  She then drives off saying, "I'll find my true love.  Even if I have to go through every man in this city, one by one."

Smiley rating.
