Overview:
The Calibration Technician will test, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate all physical/dimensional or electronic fixtures, instruments and systems used in testing products. Will perform duties using standard and special test equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures, practices and specifications. Write procedures as needed.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
30% - Operating all types of physical/dimensional or electronic test equipment in performing troubleshooting repair duties.

20% - Setting up test fixtures in accordance with established procedures.

10% - Identifying and reporting errors in drawings, schematics, prints, manuals, procedures, and other documentation.

10% - Interfacing with engineers to resolve problems.

10% - Assisting engineers in writing test procedures.

10% - Devising calibration methods, equipment set-ups and writing procedures, as required.

5% - Communicating with and providing feedback to customers.

5% - Reading, interpreting and understanding written or verbal requirements, procedures and specifications.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
-Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Requires an Associate's degree in electronics (or equivalent military education such as completion of military Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory school) and 2 years of experience in calibration and repair of precision measurement equipment. Requires general knowledge of technical requirements for the calibration of measuring and test equipment (ANSI-Z540). Must have basic knowledge of all calibrated equipment, ability to calibrate all tools and working knowledge of drawing interpretation. Also requires knowledge of physical/dimensional and electronic metrology principles and practices, ability to work with all types of electronic test equipment, read circuit schematics and ability to solder. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing desired. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person. Note: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is regularly expected to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Employee will need to work near moving mechanical parts and in loud working conditions as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals or airborne particles.
