phase noise measurement E5500

i  have problem with this device that when it start measure 1 kHz to 5 kHz it freez & can't go to next measure until if i let it 2 hours  :?

Need some specifics..

What generator are you checking?
Are you using the PC card or the dynamic signal analyzer?
Which phase noise generator are you using?
Is your FFT table customized?
Which computer system are you using?

Screen shots of your defination screens are always helpful, but you have to keep them to the limits imposed here.

i check 8640b signal generator
i use pc digitizer computer card
8663A is apart of my system as asignal referance
when i press reset the FTT is normal
i use windows NT. 
at the beginning all things work good until it start to print graph between 5kHz & 50kHz it freez if you press the meter you can see defrance but without any change happen?!

O.K., we've upgraded to XP and are using the 3561A analyzer rather than the card.  We've never trusted the card, since the USAF doesn't calibrate it, but Agilent will.  We also no longer use the 8663, but use the E8257D with the Z5641A K02 loiw noise divider.

The big question is, are you doing the measurement DCFM or Tuned RF?  Also, the 8640B could be drifting just enough to cause the system to lose phase lock.
