What is the tolerance that y'all calibrate or have yours calibrated to.  I know that the size variation between the three should be around 20uin or less, but what about nominal size of the wire?

As long as the wires fall in the proper range for the Pitch "Nominal Size" really isnt to important.  Matching them is whats important.  Many people like to have there wires as close to "Best Wire Size" as possible though even though they still can be used if it isnt the "Best Wire Size".

Get the ANSI/ASME B1.2-1983 Fed Spec for all the info you ever will need on threads.

Dosn't that standard just really talk about threads?

ck454ss

Nope it also explains Thread Wires/Thread Spheres and measurement techniques.

Explains the tolerances of thread wires?

I ask only cause I can't get a straight answer from anyone on what the diameter tolerance of a thread wire is.  is it +/-0.000005uin from BWS, or +/-0.00005in or +/-0.0001, +/-0.00001.  I'm beating my damn head against a wall

Yes the spec explains the tolerance of the wires and also spheres.  It also explains the tolerance needed for the LMM and also the flatness of the anvils required.

Try: ASME B89. 1. 17-2001 Measurement of Thread Measuring Wires, GGG-W-366  Thread & Gear Measuring Wires or VAN KEUREN Handbook No.  37.

ggg-w-366 has been cancelled with no replacement.

Do you have a copy of the area in the standard that talks about this.  All I have is ASME B1.1-2003
