ADVISORY CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN, LOGISTICS

FUNCTION:
Provides training, and guidance to KAF personnel and other GOK personnel concerning metrology related matters such as the conduct of laboratory operations and the resolution of customer support problems. Provides in-depth expertise in logistics and material support categories and can provide OJT or formal classroom training as required. Performs other functions as necessary in all areas of laboratory operations. Assists in obtaining and maintaining, laboratory QA accreditation.

Provides guidance and expertise in the development of logistics support plans and procedures for the KAFMB. Provide development guidance for revised and/or new methods concerning material support systems.  The contractor shall support the procurement process for new material, services, and facilities.  Provide guidance in the areas of acquisition, procurement and requisitioning, distribution, accountability, financial management, record keeping, equipment scheduling and movement, equipment tracking and other matters pertaining to material/production control requirements.

Maintains accurate and timely control of laboratory material acquisition functions and provide daily guidance to other logistics personnel. Prepare recommended revisions to the Material Control operational procedures as required. Coordinate with Kuwait Air Force Supply, the NAVAIR Metrology Calibration Standards Support Team (NMCSST), and other metrology activities as necessary to ensure a timely completion of material acquisition actions.

Support the development of logistics support plans and procedures of the KAFMB, including:
(a) Provide support in conducting continuous and extensive studies of existing material support systems and provide recommendations for consideration in the development of revised methods and/or procedures.
(b) Support the establishment and management of a KAF local procurement program that permits the Metrology Branch management to procure readily available material from local sources for facility upgrade and urgent calibration requirements.
(c) Train GOK personnel assigned to the logistics services division in areas of procurement, distribution, inventory control, financial accounting and record keeping.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Six (6) years experience supporting inventory management, with two (2) years in supply system management within the last five (5) years.
B. Demonstrated background in automated supply system management or development.
C. Previous experience in U.S. military supply system procurement and inventory management.
D.  At least (2) years experience working in Calibration Production control.
