Doing a little research on education and found this.

What are the pro's and con's?

I took the online sample test and was not impressed at all. I agree with Flynn, but from a techs perspective it is a waste of time. :|

I took.    .    .    and passed the test this summer.
"What a pain in the *#@. "

I agree that any training is good training, especially if it looks good to potential employers on your resume.
But honestly.    .    .    .    the test "to me" resembled more of a test for cal lab managers who would be starting up a fully accredited calibration lab rather than a "Calibration technician" certification test.

Just my humble opinion.

I don't know how scientific of a poll this was, but eCalibration.com had a survey last month about what was the most important criteria for hiring a metrologist, and the CCT certification was almost insignificant. PMEL school and years of experience were the biggest 2 factors.

Go to www.ecalibration.com and take a look at the graph.

I'm too dumb to figure out how to paste the graph into this message.
