I read recently that the Warner Robbins contract was up for bids.  Did the contract holder change or is it still KAI?

Where is Warner Robbins at?

Bid submission date has been changed to indefinite, and the union was voted in today.

Curious about an indefinite date and the rfp being archived already on FBO I went to FBO. Apparently the indefinite date has to do with one of the clauses regarding input variation.

I think some of the input problem is the engineers at AFMETCAL are using the action taken's inputed through PAMS to set the calibration interval..

Blue suiters ( to my experience ) tend to use "J" unless they order a part or are "caught" adusting something..especially if they actually have a management that insists on out of tolerance letters..

As a contractor, I don't mind showing how my day goes..If it takes me 4 hours to align something, then the Gov't should know why it took that long..especially if it's because the customer broke the seal on the item (I was doing some inflator kits last week, and all of them from one workcenter had the torque seal broken, and all were out of tolerance.)

This just goes to show how action takens should be honest, not just to get out of some paperwork.

If Robins gets the dreaded shaft of the wage determination will quality also be considered Metrology Technicians or classified as something else making them the spots people crave? (also the only people that are likely to stay)

rumored to go down-area wage determination and the Georgia Dept of Labor did us no favors with the addition of Metrology Tech-they did a horrible job of grotesquely misrepresenting our career field

Yeah, Huntsville, AL took a huge hit due to the "Metrology Tech" change as well......... talk about a chunk outta the paycheck!

That's the thing........the military doesn't compete with the civilian sector.  I only make 22 and some change an hour right now but there are nice raises coming in the following years............though still concerned since we transitioned to NSPS this year.

We were making about $16/hour when Bionetics took over the contract at Moody.  Then when Yulista got the contract we making about $19/hour.  When they accepted the CBA it went to about $22/hour.  We were really screwed on the wage determination.

At the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dalhgren they changed over to Metrology Technician when Allutiq took the contract from Yulista and it was a pay reduction for new hires, they let people who were there stay at their rates.

But above all we military labs will never compete with the civilian sector unless we start doing their work which I don't see ever happening.

Some military (DOD) labs DO compete with the civilian sector labs. I will not go into specifics, but the lab I am at does a LOT of reimbursable work for several different companies.....

They probably won't choose a contractor until after the audit...which is about two and a half weeks away. Joy! Oh joy!
