POSITION TITLE:Technician (RF Microwave), ENGINEERING TECH IV

LOCATION: AFPSL, HEATH, Ohio

SUPERVISOR: ELECTRONICS LAB MANAGER

POSITION CLASSIFICATION:   Non-Exempt

HOURS: Full-Time (Some overtime may be required)

     
1.  Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or related equivalent experience. 

2.  Minimum 4 years experience in metrology and repair of TMDE.

3.  Expertise in one measurement area within RF Microwave, with multiple areas desired.

4.  Possesses the knowledge required to read and understand schematic and wiring drawings.

5.  Thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO 17025 and T. O.  00-20-14.   


JOB SUMMARY

The Technician is responsible for providing calibration and maintenance services on electrical equipment in the Electronics Laboratory.  Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer's manuals or similar documents.  Requires the ability to use complex test instruments, such as, high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex control equipment.   
   
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•Maintains, repairs and calibrates electronic test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). 

•Performs general maintenance and overhaul procedures; and uses TMDE to troubleshoot and repair equipment. 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Perform other related duties as assigned.
