chief's first words to me when I got there was, "Oh, another one?"  They didn't even know I was coming.  They definitely didn't pay enough for their airmen to live off base, so I had to work a second job.  Plus a 2 year wait for base housing if you had 1 child.  Almost no camaraderie, maybe one or two good friends.
Even though it was my worst assignment, I liked the Phoenix area and lived here since (except for a short stint in California from 2001-2004).

I actually enjoyed the 1 year remote I spent at Osan AB ROK

Worst assignment? Keesler AFB (after the lab flunked their audit and MAJCOM re-inspection)

Best assignment, Wurtsmith AFB, MI...I enjoy hunting and fishing, so this was a great place to be..

Worst..well, I've actually liked all my assignments, even the remote to Korea.  I've been blessed with good bosses and great co-workers over more than 34 years (yeah, I joined the USAF in '73 to avoid the draft  :-D  ).
