Anyone have access to the cal adjust software for the HP 4284A LCR meter.  It is apparently obsolete.  If it is on an HP formatted disk, I believe I have instructions around somewhere on how to format an HP 3.5 inch disk.

If anyone has it that they could ZIP file and send, it would be greatly appreciated.  I could take care of getting it into a proper disk (I had to do that for my HP 89441A system).

You mentioned 89411 software. I need that!!

There is an FTP site ftp://ftp[dot]agilent[dot]com/pub/ where if you dig around, there is quite a variety of stuff.  This includes some of the software for the 89441A.  I have the 89441A, and I think I downloaded the SW from the above FTP site.  I'll take a little further look there, and if I can find the right folder, I'll post it.  Look first in the CALLPUBx folders (you'll see them).  There is quite a bit on there that you can't find on the regular Agilent website.  Happy hunting.

If you can't find it, I'll take a look around and see if I can figure out how to get you a copy.  I believe I have some of the SW on one of our servers, so you'd have to get an HP formatted disk (I have to look it up each time to remember how to do it).

No takers or ideas on the HP 4284A adjustment software.  I contacted Agilent parts id and they weren't able to help.  There is apparently one copy left of the OLD 5-1/4 inch floppy version of the 4284A adjustment software.  There's got to be something out there.

The 4284A is going out of support soon at Agilent, and at least in the MetCal and SureCal procedures I've seen, neither of them have an adjustment procedure, only the performance verification procedure.

If anyone has even an old floppy disk around that they might be able to email me a copy of that would be very helpful.  Or any ideas on how to replicate or do these illedgedly software only adjustments.  I have a unit whose readings are right on the edge.  I can mathematically offset, but it sure would be nice to find something.

So I'm open to any ideas from anyone who has a solution.  Even if someone has written code to use with NI software -- or anything.

I am probably in a little too deep on this one.  I have the HP 4284A adjustment disk with programs (actually, the disk is tucked away somewhere, and I am working from files on server drive in a folder).

The platform required is an HP 9000/200 (or /300), with HP BASIC (RMB) of at least v5.0, along with BASIC BINaries:  GRAPH, GRAPHX, IO, MAT, KBD, CLOCK, ERR, HPIB, CRTA, COMPLEX, CRTX.

I just downloaded a demo copy of HRTBasic 10.0.03, which is supposed to be compatible with HP (Rocky Mountain) BASIC.

Maybe I need a real copy to do anything.  I was able to install the HTBASIC on my Win 7 computer, and it loads up.  Now I just neeed to figure out how to get all of this to run.

Any thoughts?

I have two copies the those files that I transferred form HP Basic, to HTBasic.   Let me know where I can send them and they are yours.

I also have this ported to HTBasic. It works, I've used it. I can email it to anyone that needs it.

Does anybody have a copy of the 4284A adjustment software on a disk formatted for the HP 9000 series computer?  I need a copy.

This is a little bit off-topic but does anyone have a preference for using charted capacitors over charted resistors for this type of LCR meter?

The Quatdtechs use their cal kit  (resistors) and as long as they are used within their frequency range I can see no reason they are not useful on any LCR meter.

I have seen some procedures that do call for charted capacitors. Is anyone aware of any advantage to using charted capacitors over charted resistors?
