Makeshift Repairs

Some of the keys on this old Tek AFG310 didn't work.  Cleaned the keypad and contacts with alcohol but no dice.  They just weren't conductive anymore.  A little aluminum foil and super glue and presto it works great.  Any suggestions on other methods that aren't such a pain in the ass?  Like to hear some funny repair stories too because I know you all got some!!
