POSITION TITLE:          PMEL Technician

LOCATION:            MINOT AFB ND

POSITION

:       Non-Exempt

SUPERVISOR:   Site Manager

HOURS:   7:00am – 4:30pm

SALARY:      $34.59 (IAW Union CBA as of 10/1/2013)


JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Technician is responsible for providing calibration and repair on electronic and physical/dimensional Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).

BASIC REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
1.   Minimum four (4) years experience as PMEL technician.
       a.  Experience shall include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning,
            calibrating and certifying TMDE and laboratory working standards using safe working
            practices and utilizing the required documents/procedures
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen
3. Must be eligible for or have successfully completed a National Agency Check investigation within the last ten (10) years be able to acquire and maintain any and all necessary security clearances.
4. Thorough understanding of T.O. 00-20-14
5. Thorough understanding in the care and use of TMDE
6. Good working knowledge of the calibration and maintenance of physical, dimensional, mechanical and optical TMDE and calibration laboratory measurement standards
7. Good working knowledge of electrical, electronics, electromechanical, mechanical, physics, optics and thermal principles; mathematics and number systems
8. Knowledge of electrical theory, electronics and/or physics, and operating principles of TMDE
9. Knowledge required to read, interpret and analyze block, schematic and wiring diagrams, blueprints and technical publications
10. Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques; calibration traceability, metrology techniques and safe laboratory practices
11. Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Essential/Typical Duties:
-Maintain, repair and calibrate
-Perform general maintenance and overhaul procedures and use TMDE to troubleshoot and repair equipment
-Utilize current technical data in the performance of all duties
   -Provides technical guidance and assistance to lower level technicians

Non-Essential Duties:
-Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasionally: Climbing, Climbing and Stooping   

Often requires: Reaching, Standing, Sitting, Pushing, Pulling, Walking, Talking, Hearing


Lifting/Moving Requirements:
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.  The ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when calibrating certain TMDE.
