Looking to Relocate (Florida)

Relatively new to this forum, but it seems a great place to network a bit.   

My wife and I are looking to relocate to Florida from Indiana.    Preferably the Tampa area, but anything in the state would be given serious consideration. 

I graduated from Lowry AFB in '94 and was part of the last class of Marines to go through the school before they moved it to Mississippi.    Most recently I have worked as a Physicial / Dimensional technician for a major defense contractor. 

Anyone looking or know of someone that needs an experienced technician feel free to point me in the right direction.

We are hiring for a calibration technician in Crestview FL.


Davis Calibration - a multi-state business-to-business sales and calibration services organization, is seeking an "experienced" Field Service Calibration Technician to work in our customer location in Crestview, FL customer site.  Our ISO 9002 and ISO17025 certified Calibration Laboratory serves hundreds of manufacturing organizations.

Description of Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
•   Calibration and repair of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment with a strong emphasis on physical dimensional equipment.  Other equipment includes, but is not limited to, general-purpose test equipment, and industrial equipment such as: multimeters, temperature baths, dry block calibrators,  RH/temperature, tachometers (optical & contact), resistance decade boxes.
•   Perform depot and on-site calibrations as required.
•   Management of the test equipment data base to include generating recall notices, initiate out of tolerance notifications, and interaction with the customer quality team.
•   Develop calibration procedures and recommend associated standards.
•   Complete applicable documentation related to assignments in a timely manner.
•   Actively participates in a team environment.
•   Comply with all EH&S (Environmental Health and Safety) requirements.

Required Qualifications:
•   5 plus years plus of relevant experience in the calibration / repair calibration of test and measurement equipment.
•   Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills.
•   Previous experience working under an ISO9000 and/or ISO 17025 quality assurance program.
•   PC skills – Microsoft Excel & Word experience.
•   Must be able to work independently.

Qualifications Preferred:
•   Formal advanced training in Metrology (i.e. Military PMEL).
•   Experience with Temperature Uniformity Surveys, ASTM 2750D, and Nadcap requirements for heat treating processes.
•   AS degree in an electronics discipline or equivalent experience.
