Full benefits package including 401(K) available after 6 months.

In todays market for quality techs. Try first day of the month after 30 days or on first day. 6 months is not going to fly with anyone I know.

Sounds like they are looking for a technician that knows how to do pretty much everything also....

May be poorly written,I think they probably mean the benefits are immediate but the 401K is available after 6 months.  That's kind of a standard practice.
I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

California divisions of MPC go by this:
At 6 months you are eligible for medical benefits.
At 1 year you are eligible for 401k w/ matching.
401k matching is complicated by "vesting contributions." Only after 6 years of employment will you have ownership rights to 100% of matching/employer contributions.
I don't know anything about Texas divisions.
