SMR Inc.  is looking for technicians in the Physical-Dimensional  and Electronics areas for the Maxwell AFB Type IIB PMEL.

Physical-Dimensional Calibration Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
Maxwell AFB Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) is looking for well rounded Physical-Dimensional calibration technician.  Skills in the all areas of the lab including the following measurement areas are desired, although any combination will be considered: Linear, Angular, Surface Plate, Air Flow, Tensiometers, Torque, Mass, Force, Oil and Air Pressure, and Optics.       

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1.    Minimum four (4) years experience in Test, Maintenance, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration and repair, preferably in a military calibration lab.  Experience to include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE, metrology laboratory working standards and safe work practices/procedures. 
2.    Completion of the Military DOD metrology training program or have an Associate's Degree in Metrology. 
3.    Possess the knowledge required to read and analyze block, schematic, wiring and logic diagrams.
4.    Ability to troubleshoot and repair non-functioning TMDE.
5.    A plus is having extensive knowledge of Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program requirements including Air Force T. O.  00-20-14 and T. O.  33K-1-100-1.
6.           Secret clearance (or ability to receive one after background investigation)

Electronics Calibration Technician
Maxwell AFB, Al Type IIB PMEL

JOB SUMMARY:
Maxwell AFB Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) is looking for well-rounded electronics technicians.   The lab currently needs Technicians in all areas of the lab including with strong skills in microwave measurements that would include items such as Microwave Measurement Systems, Frequency/Synthesizer Generators to 50 GHz, Phase Noise, Spectrum Analyzers and Communication Analyzers, and TACAN/IFF, AC/DC standard, DMM.   

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1.    Minimum four (4) years experience in Test, Maintenance, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration and repair, preferably in a military calibration lab.  Experience to include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE, metrology laboratory working standards and safe work practices/procedures.

Pay is $25. 73/hr with $286. 00 every two weeks H&W.   Vacation starts at two weeks after a year.   Sick leave is 40 hrs/yr accrued at 1. 5385 hrs/pay period (every two weeks).   Ten federal holidays off.

The lab just passed the AFMETCAL eval  and is not due until October 2012.   The contract runs through 30 Sep 2013 (with option years).

The area is great for outdoor sports (hunting, fishing, boating, etc. ).   Montgomery is about three hours north of the Gulf and about 2. 5 hours SW of Atlanta.   The cost of living in the area is reasonable and military retirement is not taxed.
