Fairchild AFB PMEL

I am looking for any information on the PMEL at Fairchild AFB. 

From 00-20 it looks like it is indeed a contract lab.  All that I have found is that Joint Management Services, LLC won the contract in April 2008.  However, I cannot find any information on Joint Management Services, no website, no viable hits from google. . .

On a side note McChord is listed in 00-20 as a "core" operated lab.  Can someone explain what this is please?

Has anyone ever worked there? Have any expieriences to share about the place? Have a contact number for the lab?

I'd call the base operator (253-982-1110) and ask for the number. The civil service slots are typically well paid with decent bennies but they are seldom available. Saying that, I'd still be persistent if you want to work there. You'd probably have a better chance getting hired on at Fairchild. A lot of the labs I've been stationed at usually had 1-4 civilian positions that were filled by either someone retiring or separating from that lab. Since the flight chief (core PMEL) has the selection authority, he/she will almost always pick the one who's already familiar with the lab. It would not hurt at all to make yourself known, let them know who you are, and send them a resume. It's relatively easy to get a cal job or even a PMEL job if you're willing to relocate, but getting the job at the lab you want is arduous at best unless it's a big lab like Hill, Tinker, Robins, or AFPSL. Hiring on at a PMEL or any other government cal lab is the way to go. Good luck!

I worked at Tinker back in 87. Great place to work. Good people. I understand the contractor who had the lab back then, has it again. Good bunch.
