Science and Management Resources, Inc. (SMR) is now excepting resumes for the following future potential position in Kuwait.

SENIOR CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN, ELECTRICAL STANDARDS 

FUNCTION:

Performs repair, calibration, and modification of the wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized by GOK activities. Provides quality assurance, production tracking, equipment control, and material control expertise. Provides technical and supervisory assistance in their areas of expertise to lesser skilled technicians in one or more disciplines.

Provides training and advice for repair, calibration, modification of the wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized by the GOK Primary Electrical Standards Laboratory. Provides technical and procedural support to KAF personnel and other GOK personnel concerning metrology related matters such as the repair, calibration or modification of precision measurement equipment in primary electrical standards. Provides in-depth technical expertise in one or more of the following disciplinary categories and can provide OJT or formal classroom training as required. Performs precision measurements, calibrations, modifications, maintenance and repair actions, depot level rework and other functions as necessary in all areas of standards laboratory operations. Advise on upgrade of primary electrical standards. Conduct studies and statistical analysis of all disciplines within the primary electrical standards laboratory. Calculates measurement uncertainties and Test Uncertainty Ratios (TUR).

This discipline includes such measurement areas as voltage, current, power; resistance, capacitance, inductance, time and frequency, modulation and encompasses repair, calibration or modification of items such as audio and low frequency signal generators, oscilloscopes, digital and analog voltmeters, AC/DC ammeters, wattmeters, electronic counters, pulse generators, resistance, capacitance, inductance bridges, automated test equipment, and other general purpose measuring equipment.
   
QUALIFICATIONS:   

A.   A working knowledge of the basic concepts of electronics and science.  This knowledge shall include basic electricity, electronics, circuit theory, digital logic, algebra, and physics.

B. An Associate's degree in electronics technology from an accredited school and have six (6) years work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards. OR

C.  Completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration program, a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, AND

D. Eight years experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating electronic Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE),

E..  Demonstrated experience in conducting formal and on the job training.

F.  Familiar with ISO 17025 laboratory requirements and procedures, including calculation of total uncertainty budgets for complex electrical standards within a metrology laboratory environment.

G. Experience in using engineering and statistical computer based applications/tools.

H. Experience in developing and presenting, in writing and orally, proposals on the development/upgrades of calibration systems and associated hardware.
