7 to 12 Month Contract (POSSIBILITY OF EXTENDING OR BECOMING PERMANENT)
Hourly Pay Rate: $25 to $35

Job Description:

Calibration/Metrology Specialist will provide technical expertise necessary to inspect, test, adjust, and calibrate instruments.   The Metrologist/Calibration Specialist will be expected to supply instrument calibration to insure reliability of instruments and measurements to all modules and their clients. 

Job Functions:

Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of measurements and instruments.   Inspects and test equipments both new and repaired instruments to verify conformance to quality controls standards and process tolerances. 

Establish and adjust workload to meet schedules as defined by the Metrology Supervisor.   Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of activities, departments, or staff. 

Created procedures, designs, and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting measurement quality and reliability data.   Create reports concerning measurement activities and develop training material and conduct training sessions. 

Must have proficient knowledge of liquid handling measurement systems including, but not limited to calibration and preventive maintenance of pipettes. 

3 to 5 years of Metrology experience within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is preferred

Experience in include ability to inspect, test, adjust, and calibrate instruments and use advanced mathematical ability to apply concepts such as exponents, logarithms, and equations. 

PMEL Expertise is a plus
