We currently have an immediate opportunity for an Account Manager in the Sunnyvale California area.

This individual will be responsible for the creation and implementation of an effective business development strategy with potential new and existing accounts within the Bay Area, CA to maximize SIMCO's market penetration in the assigned territory. The responsibilities of the Account Manager will be:

•   Develop new calibration service accounts with limited direct supervision.
•   Manage contract negotiations and renewals with existing customers.
•   Implement effective territory management practices to maximize face to face contact with prospective decision-makers and end-users.
•   Interface with SIMCO sales management and other SIMCO departments on a regular basis to assist with strategic, tactical and regular administrative projects.
•   Utilize company contact and data management software to optimize information collection and management reporting.
•   Travel and attend scheduled laboratory, sales and company meetings, conferences and training sessions.
•   Regular communication to sales management of sales forecasts, budgets, action plans and competitive analysis.
•   Coordinate and meet regularly with local lab management to ensure seamless operations between sales and other departments and to facilitate superior customer service and new customer development.

The ideal candidate will be an independent, self-starter with a minimum of 2 years of outside sales and account management experience and will be able to meet the position's objectives with limited direct supervision.  The leading candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing or business.  Candidates with a strong background in high technology sales, service contract sales and experience in the semiconductor, electronic component, or computing markets will be given favorable consideration.  Those holding degrees in other areas, but with significant experience in the aforementioned markets, may also be considered.  The ideal candidate will also be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite.  Occasional air travel and overnight stays will be required.  Both written and verbal communication skills are extremely important.

This is a team atmosphere primarily in a laboratory or manufacturing environment at a SIMCO location and/or customer sites, and the position could require some travel. This is a regular full time position.
