Has anyone ever heard that turning a torque screwdriver in the counter-clockwise direction, despite being explicitly calibrated in the clockwise direction, can void the cal on the torque screwdriver?

I'm talking about a typical snap-action adjustable torque screwdriver, like one of these:

Allegedly a QA guy from JPL lost it when witnessing a tech use a torque driver to not only tighten screws, but also loosen and unscrew them.

It doesn't do anything to it.  I have used these for decades and we do use them CCW and I cal them for that.  Out Of Tolerance conditions are no more or less then when calibrated CW.
