Does anyone have experience with this standard? It's pretty nice from whta I can tell, but I'm a little confused on some of the features. For instance, what is the best method for measuring lenght, i.e gage blocks, etc? Two block point masturing or the enviromental method? Is there anything that I should be concerned about when taking measurements? Thanks guys!

Ive used this machine for many years now.  Its the most accurate universal machine I have ever used but it does have its drawbacks.  It really sucks for high volume labs though.  As far as measuring lengths such as gage blocks, if your looking for volume of measurement vs accuracy of the measurement than a 0.5" or 1" datum would be good.  If your looking for accuracy than use a master gage block set and match each datum to the block being measured.  Let me know if you have any other questions about it.

could you explain in detail
"Datum"?
The manual doesn't go in to detail and I'm confussed about that. The manual says to set the first point to the low range (i.e .050) and the second point to the high end (1 inch) for two point mastering. Do I change my datum ever time I switch out the UUT? I don't get it. I'm in the process of writing a T.O for gage blocks using this for the UAE Air Force, so any help would be great. How do you use it? How does the swivle and tilt affect the readings? It seems to me that you can make it read anything you want. Help a brother out! Thanks
