Supervisor, Calibration

Job Purpose:
Supervises calibration personnel, activities, scheduling and forecasting in a FDA regulated environment.   Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, internal customers, vendors and subcontractor representatives to determine responsibilities and solutions.   Establishes and ensures compliance with good housekeeping practices, employee hygiene and equipment sanitation; analyzes calibration error, out of tolerance reports and calibration production statistics for significant findings and conclusions; works with Research and Development during new product start-ups, and establishes key checkpoints for new equipment and processes.   Assures site compliance to applicable regulations and standards for control of inspection, measuring and test equipment. 
             
Key Responsibilities:

·         Forecasts calibration scheduling and assigns daily calibration duties
·         Provides guidance and on the job training
·         Assists subordinates in attaining career goals
·         Motivates team to achieve results
·         Works with manager to establish department goals and accountabilities
·         Assists manager in planning resource needs and hiring

Qualifications (required):

·          2-year technical degree in a related field, or equivalent. 
·          8 years Metrology/Calibration experience. 
·          Minimum of 4 years people management experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

·          Experience working in a FDA or similar government regulated environment. 
·          Familiarity with FDA CFR 21 Part 820, ISO 9001, and/or ISO 13485. 
·          Understanding of basic physical and dimensional calibrations. 
·          Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). 
·          Basic understanding of data acquisition and validation equipment including process control equipment/controllers, chart recorders, DC Analog/Signal Conditioners, and transducers. 
·          Working knowledge of Blue Mountain Calibration Management software. 
·          Familiarity with Met/Cal and related calibration management software. 
·          Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Windows OS. 
·          Experience in the capacity of a calibration auditor and/or an auditee.
