As I understand it, the labs in Iraq and Afghanistan are currently fully manned.   Probably wouldn't hurt to send your resume in anyway. . . . never know when someone's going to have a sudden attack of common sense and head for home.

Reverand.Duke ,

more importantly, what is that in your dogs mouth?  oh and why do i never get contacted?  my feelings are hurt.

Could it be a bird?

Reverand.Duke

it's the top part of a rabbit.
Not actually my dog--MY black lab is more of a four-legged throw pillow. . . . . not terribly "outdoorsy". . .

I'll try to attach the entire picture:

Which company did you apply to?

Oh .... so it is... big ole rabbit ears....

I bet the dog thinks it's yummy.

Rumour has it that there might be openings under LOGCAP IV in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Kinda late on responding to this. The company must be Fluor. They got the contract away from KBR.  I am in Bagram and applied since I was already over here in Afghan land.  They offered me $120.  That is a hell of a lot less than what I am getting.  They do lowball.
There are a lot of openings in satcom over here.  If you got satcom experience, you can get a decent wage, especially in the next few months.
Only hang up with that is they are primarily looking for people with active TS or better clearance already.

The Center Will Not Hold

It's Fluor, but Fluor has sub-contracted the staffing to a small business.
If they offered you $120k, you're doing better than most of their techs.
Somebody's making a bunch of money on this, but it's definitely NOT the technicians.
