I was looking around and saw some used in the 35k range. I know my company bought a new one a while back and I saw the paperwork it was like 29k have Fluke prices on these risen that much?

I bought a new 5500 SC3000 for Goodrich 3 years back and it was $24k, I did notice that the cost for recalibrating it at Fluke went up pretty fast in that time frame.

I was quoted 48k on the 5520A with the SC 1100 about a month and a half ago if this helps.

We have to calibrate our 5520A meter portion every 90 days, as we really need the 90 day specs as opposed to the 1 year specs.  Even with that, on some 4 1/2 digit meters we are not 4:1 and use our 5720A/5725A's or 5700A-EP/5725A's.  Our 57X0A's have shown great reliabilty (roughly 87%-55 samples) where as our 55X0A's reliability is roughly 47% for 28 samples.  So in a nut shell, we don't use the 55X0A's for meter cals, they are used as capacitance sources, automated TDS cals and general purpose V, Ohm and R sources.  For meter cals, I recommend the 5720A/5725A-this will allow you to do most long scale dmm's (albeit with guardbanded tolerances) and to get a good scope calibrator such as the 9500B.  (although I am still partial to the CG5001/SG5030 Tek system-worked fine, lasted a long time).  I've bought used in the past and have always been satisfied with the purchase
