Title: Salary's
Post by: OldSchl on 11-30-2006 -- 16:40:59
What is the typical salary range for a junior tech (1-3 years), an intermediate tech (5-7 years) and a senior tech (10+ years)? All are well rounded and have the PMEL school.

A lot of that has to do with location. Southern California pays a lot better than southern Missouri. But of course the COL is a lot higher there too.

Really depends on the location. Here in the Pacific NW...(1-3 years)$16-19/hr, (5-7 years)$19-23/hr, (10+ years)$24-30. Depends on company size and value placed on metrology. Seems like other parts of the country (South and Northeast) are paying much better.

Thanks allot. Unfortunately I've noticed that cost of living doesn't affect pay very much unless you're in a low cost of living area. There seams to be a ceiling on pay if your in a high cost of living area.

I think K-Rock's list of salary ranges are right on the money ( no pun intended ).

Go to www.salary.com and do a search for "Calibration."  You'll see a bunch of info.

I like this site even more, but I couldn't find our job in it.... http://www.careeronestop.org/
