Well the truth is the pay depends on exp. Some guys here with just 5-10 years make $24.25 per hour and some with more exp. make more. The benifits are basically the standard stuff like 401K w/matching , medical, dental insurance, tuition reimbursment, you know all that stuff. I cannot determine your pay that is up to you and your exp and how good you can negotiate your salary.

We tried to see if you could cal our 8163Q yesterday..........you cert doesn't go high enough and the uncertanities were to great.

Post by: flew-da-coup on 08-16-2006 -- 13:49:04
Oh yeah, I talked to someone yesterday. I heard Hart Scientific wouldn't do it over 400C either. I am able to extrapolate to 650C, but our uncert. won't work. When we had our A2LA audit we didn't have all the equipment in for temp yet. I actually have a MIL Resistance Bridge now and our actual uncertainty is in the dirt, but I can't certify with that uncert until it is added to our A2LA scope of accreditation. Sorry MIRCS. This time next year I will be able to cal it after our A2LA Audit. did you guys ever find anyone to do it yet? Thanks for trying to do business with us. I told the guy on the phone that I could cal it with low uncert. but I cannot accredit it until my new uncerts are added to our scope.

It seems we are just going to buy a new one from Hart. I believe that is why they are acting like this. They have cal'd it before to 650, but are saying something about it have something in it now...........who knows.

Thanks for trying

Hey Coup,

Did you find out the signing bonuse yet?   What you waiting for.  All these outstanding Cal-Techs are waiting to decide whether the signing bonus is good enough.

I don't know what it is yet. I haven't been able to go ask HR yet. I have someone from the forum applying and he will know. I can't tell you who it is yet. They will tell him and he can post it. :-D
Title: Re: Who wants to move to Florida and work with Coup?
Post by: docbyers on 08-18-2006 -- 06:52:23
What if it's too embarrassing to post?  What if it's so enormously huge he doesn't want to tell anybody, or he's worried about your cut of the dough, seeing how you helped him get the job and all...  :-)

In all seriousness, what he gets for a signing bonus is his business.  If he chooses to share it with us (the amount), fine and dandy.

If I knew what Human Resources was offering I would tell you. I am sure it's more than what they pay us for finding a good tech. They pay us a finders fee of $1,500 per person hired. I would rather they keep that money and just hire someone so I don't have to live here. I want to go home every now and again. I have set up camp in the RF Screen Room. They won't let me start a camp fire though. I have to roast my marsh mellows over the salt bath or TC Furnace. We really need 2-3 more techs here and many more across the country. :|

I used to sleep in the K8 cage when we were on long alerts at Ramstein...  A camp fire may be detrimental to your environmental control systems, and throw your temperature/humidity all out of whack.  :-)

Orlando, probably 25 Disney bucks.

Or maybe a gift certificate for $25.

Coup might understand the last one.

Move to Florida and work with Coup?? HA!!
I recently read that Coup would return to Happy Valley if the benefits were right.
Well the annual BCBS deductible just went up $500 - from $1500/yr to $2000/yr.  :-o
Uncle Brad is not large enough for good benefits!  :?

I just moved out of Florida and the shop I worked for is still looking for a tech. It is in the St. Petersburg area. The position I had was mainly electronic but having some knowledge in phys D would be extremely helpful. Work was both in the lab and on-site.

Only major drawback is the benefits were kind of low end. If anybody is interested contact me by private message.
