Title: Guns 'n' Ammo
Post by: docbyers on 06-06-2006 -- 14:20:43
Congress did not renew the Clinton assault weapons ban in 2004, and a greater number of states (now including Nebraska, New Mexico, and Missouri) now issue a greater number of concealed weapons permits.

So naturally, the nation should have devolved into anarchy by now, something like Dodge City? And surely, more children were killed in gun accidents, and there's at least a little uptick in gun crime, right?

Uh, well, not exactly.

Based on federal government statistics, the National Shooting Sports Foundation reports a 7 percent decrease in gun crime and a 50 percent decrease in accidental shootings of children since 1998 -- a period that has seen a restoration of Americans' constitutional right to bear arms. During the same time period, gun and ammo purchases increased by 28 percent, even as annual gun accidents reached an all-time numerical low.

Americans are better armed -- and safer -- than ever before, with an estimated 110 million households having guns.

I have 16 guns, but on is a black powder Colt Navy .44 pistol. My favorite is my Springfield 1911A .45 it's stainless with cherry grips. I also have a H&K G53 that I really enjoy even though it is only semi-auto. I love gguns and no one will take them away. Even if they made them illegal., :-P

Of course we never see these truths printed by the media because it doesn't sensationalize the B.S. propaganda they were spreading and whipping the anit-gunners into a frenzy.  I always say you can never have too many guns, knives, or ammunition.

Flew,
If you like the 1860 Colt percussion 44, try out the Richards-Mason coversion to 44 Colt centerfire.
I have both, really like the balance on the Colt 1851 and 1860.
For fun the Mauser C96, broomhandle is fantastic, kind of wish I had a schnellfuer version just once.
As far as guns of various types, something over 30, all periods from the Revolution to WWll, all but 2 in use ( haven't had time to restore those yet )

I will have to check that gun out. I have a .303 British that is fun to shoot, if you like guns from that era.

Had a 303 replaced it with K98 7x57 then replaced that with a Sharps carbine 1874 in 45-70, for offhand work and general hunting I like my York pattern longrifle, tigerstripe maple stock, a swamped 50 barrel, brass mounted flintlock, loaded at 75 grains and a patched round ball, good kill range out to 250 yards. A lot can be said for one shot on kill.

I like to hunt with black powder but prefer center fire. I hunt with a Browning .280 A-Bolt and for brush I love my Marlin 336CS 30-30.

I have a very old Revalation 12 ga,  a early 60's winchester 30-30 with "sears and roebuck" stamped on the barrel.  I also have a 1954 Spanish FR-8 (308) with the sniper sites on it, which was given to me as a retirement present from a good friend.  Still waiting for Deer season to go to Virginia and use the FR-8.   Coup, wanna take a week and hunt in the mountains in VA.  lots of hunting and beer.

My sister looks like my mom. They both have brown hair and 6 arms. I will admit her extra ear on her forehead is sexy. You have to be careful with her because she has a hump on her back that oozes puss when you bump it to hard. She wants to be a model one day after she gets enough money to afford dentures. She is only missing only 2 toes unlike my mom. Some people don't like her bald spot, but Cletus says he likes her hair. She is high maintanance though. She only once to wear clothes from Wal-Mart and refuses to go into the Goodwill Store. Do you want to meet her? I know you would like her. Who doesn't like a 450lbs hottie that's only 12 years old? Pappy says it's time for her to marry and move out to her own trailor.

Maybe. He's always telling everyone how hot his wife is. So, I want to know if she has a sister. Although, if she has six arms, I take my question back.

Just kidding. Her sister was a human girl trapped in a dogs body. So her sister had an operation to become human.
