I've got a guy that just moved from here to the cities (personal reasons - closer to kids, that sort of thing), and finds himself in need of a job. Is there any help out there for this experienced physical/dimensional tech? I'd hire him back in two shakes, but he needs to stay in the cities.
I know some of you guys are movers and shakers in the metrology world, got any contacts or suggestions?
The closest thing I have is Milwaukee...Precision Metrology, Inc. is one of the largest, privately owned, calibration facilities in the nation, providing calibration services to a wide variety of sectors. Precision Metrology is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 through A2LA and is registered to ISO9001:2000.
Because of a rapid expansion in our Electronic Calibration Dept. we are currently looking for electronic calibration technicians at our Milwaukee facility. We are looking for someone to work in our electronic calibration department working in DC, Low-Freq. AC, Resistance, Inductance, Capacitance, Temperature and/or RF. Computer skills are required. Some travel involved.

Thanks Doc!
From my conversations with him, I'd say Milwaukee is too far.
He really is a K6 tech, He's a great tech with a top notch ND work ethic, but it'd be a stretch to recommend him for a "walk in and be productive" electronics tech position.
Before I went to Moody, I interviewed with them......top notch people, they were however 3 dayslate in offering the job..........but that was years ago.

This is about an hour from the cities. Not sure if they are currently hiring or the pay ranges though. Worth a try.
Thanks Snap and MIRCS,
I'm feverishly passing on this info...What the hell am I doing?
I'll just tell him to read The PMEL Forum....
I can be such a dumb-ass sometimes!
